• Beautiful Photos from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

It's just all the beautiful images of my trip from Phnom Penh city to Siem Reap province in Cambodia. All images are from the streets, along national highway 6A, crossing Kampong Cham province, Kampong Thom province, and finally Siem Reap province, which burst out the most beautiful images of the amazing temples. It's not just one temple but many temples in Siem Reap like Bakong temple, Angkor Thom temple, Angkor Thom gate, The elephant terrace. The music might not be nice as these are all the music i've got. sorry.. Let's enjoy the video. Thank you very much for watching. The following is a collection of our favorite travel photos from Cambodia (a travel pictures slideshow sequence) including travel images from Phnom Penh, Battambang, Angkor, Temples of Angkor, Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. Many of our images include candid portraits of Khmer locals. The Cambodian locals themselves are some of the friendliest and kindest folks on the planet which is a minor miracle given recent tragic events in the country under the Khmer Rouge. Some of our top highlights included visiting the many temples of Angkor (Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, Preah Khan, Ta Som, Banteay Srei), watching the Battambang Circus and taking numerous bus trips and tuk-tuk rides. In this video, you will see each day of my trip through my lense starting in Phnom Penh, Takeo, Kep, Kampot, Angkor and ending in Siem Reap. Hope you enjoy! Like and Share :D It helps me out! The music is by Bliss - Manvantara.

Entry from: Phnom Penh, Cambodia Entry Title: "The most depressing place ever" Entry: "When we arrived in Phnom Penh, after beating off a million tuk tuk drivers and eventually finding somewhere to stay the first thing we did was try to sort out a Visa for Vietnam. We had heard that Phnom Penh wasnt a great city and it can take a few days for the Visa to come through - we didnt want to get stuck there! We were planning on heading to the embassy ourselves but our guesthouse could arrange it for us for about the same price, and we woudnt have to pay for the tuk tuk to the embassy and back. So we handed our passports over, hoping we would get them back! Unfortunately it was after handing over our passports that we realised the air-con in our room was pathetic. We moved rooms to find it was just the same as the last room! The guesthouse staff kept telling us it was cold as long as we sat under the air-con unit, and we were like - that's not the point of air-con! we may as well have a fan!! Luckily our bed was directly under the unit so sleeping wasnt too difficult. We thought about moving to another guesthouse but as they now had our passports, and we only intended staying two nights, we stayed put. It wasnt worth the gamble! But it was very annoying as it was one of the most expensive places we had stayed and it was definitely not value for money! That night we took the $9 we had in our pockets and got a cheap dinner before an early night in our warm room. The next day we intended on visiting all the tourist sights in Phnom Penh so it was going to be a long day. Every time we left the guesthouse we were bombarded by tuk tuk drivers. If not for now then tomorrow! They know that all the tourists go to the Palace, the Museum, S21 and the Killing Fields and you have to get a tuk tuk to get to S21 and the Killing Fields. Most people will charter a tuk tuk for the day, like we did in Angkor, and this is obviously big bucks for them so they wont leave you alone! That morning we eventually agreed a price with one guy (who had been stalking us since we arrived) for him to take us to S21 and the Killing Fields. It was a pretty depressing morning! S-21 stands for Security Prison 21 and was previoulsy a high school in Phnom Pehn. The Khmer Rouge was a communist army, led by Pol Pot, that gained control of Cambodia in 1975 after a civil war. They wanted to transform Cambodia in to a classless society, but in their attempts to do so, during 1975 and 1979, millions of innocent Cambodian people died. To begin with, the Khmer Rouge used S21 to imprison and torture people who they thought were members of the Lon Nol government, whom they had fought against in the civil war, as well as anyone who was educated. Later the leaders even turned on their own ranks and brought in members of the Khmer Rouge and their families as their paranoia made them fear that these men could lead a potential coup. Prisoners were tortured and coerced to confess to treason and then name friends and family as traitors, who were then imprisoned and tortured. A lot of the instruments used for torture still remain, as does the barbed wire, iron bars and makeshift prison cells, just as they were on the day the prison was uncovered in 1979. Apparently around 17,000 people were brought to the prison over the years and only 12 are known to have survived. During 1975, corpses were buried around the grounds of the prison, but they soon ran out of space. It was at this stage that the Khmer Rouge decided to start transporting the prisoners to Choeung Ek, a former orchard 17km south of Phnom Penh - now known as The Killing Fields. Guards would tell the prisoners they were going to the country to work on the land, but instead they ..."
